Community Picnic and Earth Day celebration at the Jacksonville Center

You are cordially invited to a community picnic and Earth Day celebration at the Jacksonville Center in Floyd, Virginia on Saturday, April 22. This is a free event, and all are welcome!

Things to bring: picnic items, music instruments, lawn seating, friends!

Events planned so far for this day include:

- An open house at the SLEC (Sustainable Living Education Center)

- art reception for the spring exhibit at Traces

- lawn games

- music under the oak tree, featuring Billy Miller at 2 pm and Snake Hollow String Band at 4 pm

- faerie house building workshop with Patricia & Cori Woodruff (please see the Jacksonville Center website at http://www.jacksonvillecenter.org for details on this class)

other things to see at the Jacksonville Center on April 22:

- a recycled art exhibit in the Hayloft

- an exhibit of work by students from the Blacksburg New School and the Blue Mountain School in Floyd

- Leon Davis will be leading a work day to help complete the Jacksonville Center's straw bale building
