Sumiko and Yumiko are due on 07-19-2032, and all signs shown so far indicate that they will become perfectly healthy Ninja calligraphers, just like their parents.

Healers have warned me of the risk of premature birth due to the extremely curious and adventurous nature they are likely to have as a result of their genetics. important note - pokeweed berries are poisonous to eat.
try not to get pokeweed juice on your skin, either. it can be irritating.

supplies

pokeweed berries
mortar & pestle
clay slip (white or red)

guidelines

choose a whitish clay slip if you want a lighter color.
red clay slip will give a reddish tone.

you can use frozen or fresh berries.
grind them in a mortar & pestle. save the seeds. (do not eat them.)

pour off the juice, let it evaporate a bit, and add a little clay slip.

the paint will be ruined if it gets wet, but otherwise colors stay fairly vivid for at least a few weeks.

Please help and assist! I am in a situation which calls for your vast expertise in the realm of (term not given) and as you know this is a place in which I am completely out of my league.

The problem has to do with my young nephews, who are in a rock & roll type band with some friends. In any case I think it is similar to rock & roll but I am not quite sure what to call it, to be perfectly honest.

These young men are playing up to three times a week now in various bars and so forth and as I understand it they will be going on a rock & roll tour soon.

Here is my problem: I have been asked to view the band’s new website and was very sad to learn that these pages make my nephew and his pals look like they are in a common garage band when in reality they COMPLETELY KICK TAIL and ought to be headlining at Lollapalooza or something like that.

I don’t want them to think their Auntie is the interfering type, but how can I sit aside while these earnest young men continue to present their work in such an unbecoming way?

thank you for your letter! I am sure that the Geijutsuka people would be happy to know that you are concerned about their well-being.

however, keep in mind that most Geijutsuka people are by nature very proud, and no matter how hungry and deprived they become, they do not wish to be viewed with any sense of pity.

a little consideration can go a long way in helping to assimilate the Geijutsuka people into the world of People Who Always Have Plenty to Eat. Few Geijutsuka people wish to be regarded as a charity case, and many would prefer to live for weeks on bubblegum, tap water, and cheap coffee if it allowed them to avoid taking a handout from anyone.

I have a robot question for you.
Please tell me how to train my robots so they will deliver relevant content to my readers.
right now all they are delivering is generic stuff that makes me look like some fool who does not care about relevant content.
I keep trying to tell them to serve some ads about "conservation", "global warming", "alternative energy", "ethical mining" etc. but they are still not getting it.
Can you give me some suggestions?

Try to be patient with your robots. It's not their fault that they are binary.
Keep using your target words whenever you get a good opportunity to do so.
And don't forget to tag your posts!
In the bad old days of the Internet, tagging your text was a no-no. the Big Dogs of the Internet said that that was called Keyword Stuffing, and they considered it spam.
Now, thank goodness, tagging your text is legal, so little dogs like us can get our message to the public without having to grovel and perform demeaning information architecture gymnastics to make our content look like their context.
However, if you do all this and you don't see any good results within a few days or so, it may be time to ice your robots .

I think I may be getting swindled of some of my money, too, although I do not have the sharpest ability to count money.

if you are thinking about getting you a Cafe Press shop at this point I would say, fine, do that if you want but do not get disappointed when you check your account and every single time it is BIG FAT ZERO, nada, nothin.

The FBI came calling in Windsor, Conn., this summer with a document marked for delivery by hand. On Matianuk Avenue, across from the tennis courts, two special agents found their man. They gave George Christian the letter, which warned him to tell no one, ever, what it said.

Under the shield and stars of the FBI crest, the letter directed Christian to surrender "all subscriber information, billing information and access logs of any person" who used a specific computer at a for three dozen Connecticut library branch some distance away. Christian, who manages digital recordslibraries, said in an affidavit that he configures his system for privacy. But the vendors of the software he operates said their databases can reveal the Web sites that visitors browse, the e-mail accounts they open and the books they borrow...

Pokeberry makes an intense red dye. It is the original "garnet" of the Hampden-Sydney school colors. Without a mordant, however, pokeberry is not colorfast....use sodium carbonate (soda ash, washing soda) as a mordant.

Pick the berries from about half a dozen "heads" and place them in a pot or beaker with 250 mL of water. Make sure the berries are crushed, so that the juice colors the water. Heat the juice on a hotplate until it is hot to the touch, but not boiling. Boiling the juice will destroy the color.

Add 2 tbsp of washing soda to 250 mL of water in an iron pot or glass beaker and bring this to a boil. Immerse the wet yarn in the boiling soda solution until it turns from white to yellow. If you boil it too long, the wool will turn brittle. If your don't boil long enough, the dye will not be colorfast. Remove the yarn from the soda but do not rinse it out. Place your yarn in the hot pokeberry juice for 30 minutes. Remove the yarn from the juice and place it in a plastic bag to "stew in its juices" overnight. Then set it out to dry. You should find that the color does not wash out, even with soap and water.

Throw your berries and stems in the trash and pour your dye down the drain when you are finished. Wash any and all utensils with soap and water and leave the lab or kitchen area cleaner than when you found it.

The European Registry of Internet Domain Names (EURid) has recently announced that the sunrise period for .eu domains will begin on December 7th. The .eu top level domain (TLD) is intended for organizations within the European community and is yet another way in which European states are coming together to create a stronger community.

The sunrise period is broken up into two parts, each lasting two months. In the first phase only those who have a prior right or claim to the name may register the .eu extension. In the second phase of the sunrise period starting February 7th, others, including companies, unregistered trademarks, trade names, business identifiers and distinctive titles of protected literary and artistic work may begin registering their domains with the .eu TLD. Welcome to let the dogs on trucks chop shop. Here we get into the guts of robots. You might be surprised to learn how easy it is to modify a robot. Even when you know basically nothing about computers, like me.

We are currently building a robot dog on top of a monster truck. It is going to be the biggest, baddest robot ever and it is going to kick the a** of all the other robots. Pardon my asterisks.

Even though it is Herculean in stature this monster truck is completely Carbon Neutral! No coal, oil, methane, natural gas, ether, hydrogen, or fermented mashed banana peel is burned to power this vehicle.

Well, almost none.

Still, we will CRUSH the competition and that is really what matters.

hahahaha just kidding.

Anyway feel free to take a tour here but be warned that I am having the grazers chew on this site right now and the word order is very very messy in here, so don’t set anything down, especially your attention, or you may never find it again.

So I guess the first big news is that I got orated at today. The oration was intense but I can hardly blame the man for his passion. A survivor of a non-Katrina flood is organizing a benefit in which he is asking the Hokie Nation to give over a whole game’s worth of money to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

What do you say, “The Hokies?” I think that would be a nice gesture.

How much money is that, anyway?

The more I think of it, the more I think that the city of New Orleans didn’t drown, like people got in the habit of saying during the flooding. She just got slimed really really badly. Slimed by bureaucracy.

Far too many souls perished during the flooding of New Orleans. But the city is, most assuredly, not drowned.

any lady who has been slimed knows: the first and the best thing you can do for yourself is to let the slime, and the shame of the slime, to wash off, and know that the shame does not belong to you.

Your dignity will grow back like a 10-ft pair of wings if you let the bitterness go. that is what I think, anyway.

anyway...I had a very nice coffee in town today with some friends. That is where I got orated at. (hold on a minute, I need to talk to the robots.)

First of all, yes, blogging is free when you use blogger.com, one of the most popular blogging sites.

Here is a quick ten or fifteen minute blogging lesson.

At the top of this page, in the left hand corner, you will see an icon for Blogger. Click on this icon. This will bring you to the Blogger.com page. There, you will see a button that says "take a quick tour". Click on that button and read through the little introduction.

If you are ready to create your own blog, you will find a button for that, but you might want to read some other people's blogs first to see what the Blogosphere (the blog world) is like.

Spending a little time at technorati.com is a good way to see what kind of blogs other folks are writing. Notice they way people use tags, or keywords, to summarize the subject of their blog posts.

These keywords are there so that search robots can help people find posts about subjects that interest them.

Now for your homework: what to name your blog? A good blog name is catchy, easy to spell, and easy to remember.

Blog names are sort of like CB handles. They identify you as a person, and let others know a little bit about who you are.

Since the whole blog thing is generally pretty informal and conversational, even bloggers who write about very serious subjects often choose funny names for their blogs. Don't be afraid to pick a name that is lighthearted and informal. Those kinds of names tend to put people at ease.

If you have pets, you might want to think about a blog name that puts the focus on your pet. This will also give you plenty to talk about on your blog.

The point here is to engage your readers, and to make them feel at home on your blog.
